Diapering Basics for the New Clueless Dad
When you are a new dad, chances are good that you haven’t had time to learn a lot about babies and how to take care
of them. You might be finding yourself a bit overwhelmed, and you might not know how to do even the simplest
things. Never fear, there are lots of dads that feel the same way that you do, and with a little good training you
can be sure that you can do everything that they can do, and more.
One of the first things to master as a new dad would be diaper changing. This is something that is going to come up
more times than you care to think about, and many times each and every day. This means that you’d better get good
at it, and you’d better get good at it fast. Remember, too, that the simple act of changing a diaper can really
make the mother’s day, so you should try to do it for her whenever you can.
First of all, remember that this isn’t as hard as it looks. Once you get used to it, you’ll find that chancing a
diaper is something that goes quiet quickly and easily, and it is something that you are going to be surprised at
once you understand it.
The first thing that you should do is make sure you have all of your materials handy. Be sure that you have a clean
and safe place to change the baby, and make sure that the diapers, the baby wipes, the powder, and everything else
you need are all in easy reach of where you are. You have to be sure that you are able to reach everything without
moving away from where you are changing the baby. Once you have all of the materials that you need, you are ready
to begin.
The first thing that you should is take off the clothes of the baby, or at least the bottom part. You don’t want to
end up needing to change the baby’s clothes, too! Take off the bottom parts of the baby’s clothes, and then you can
begin to change the diaper using one hand to keep the baby still.
The best way to do this is to have a clean diaper laid out underneath the baby right from the start. If you lay out
a clean diaper, going the right direction, and in the right place, you’ll make it that much easier.
Then, you can un-stick the diaper and pull it out from under the baby. If there are any messes that you can clean
by wiping the baby with the dirty diaper, this is a great way to do it. Then, set the baby back down onto the clean
diaper and pull the tabs on the dirty diaper so that it forms into a ball that you can easily throw away. Then,
you’ll be ready to clean the baby with wipes and put powder on the baby. After you have done this, you can pull up
the clean diaper and fasten it onto the baby.
When you have the motions down, you’ll find that diaper changing is one of the easiest parts about being a dad.
Once you have the clean diaper on, you should check to make sure that the tabs are fastened but they aren’t too
loose or too tight. Then, you can put the clothes back on the baby and you are ready to go.
Remember that this can be a great time for you to bond with your baby, so take advantage of it! It can be a
wonderful time once you know what you are doing!
