Beyond Compare: How To Relish Your Own Baby's Achievements
Every baby has milestones and it is development that parents look forward to. The first laugh, first word, first
step. All of these events are anxiously waited for, and when they happen, bring an immense amount of joy to a
parent. This joy can often be quelled however, by other parents bragging about their own child's
accomplishments.
As a new parent, we can become worried when our own baby is not developing as quickly as other children. All babies
develop differently however, and your own baby’s achievements should be completely enjoyed whenever they occur. By
focusing too much on what other peoples children are doing, you may very well miss out on your baby's own exciting
achievements. It is understandable that other new mother's will continue to constantly brag about what their child
is doing, but it is important and necessary that while you can be happy and supportive for them, you not loose
sight of the important milestones in your own baby's life.
Rather than focusing on the fact that your own child hasn't taken it's first step yet, enjoy each and every other
thing your baby is doing. The first years of your baby’s life are irreplaceable. Every thing your baby does should
be enjoyed to the fullest extent. A great way to truly relish your own baby's achievements is to document each
important milestone that occurs. You need not only document the important milestones however, simply document your
baby’s daily life. This can be taking pictures, videos or even simply writing things down in a journal or baby
book. This is a great way to truly focus on your baby and the achievements that it is making on a daily
basis.
If this is not your first child, it may be even more difficult for you to truly relish each achievement your baby
makes. However, even though you have been through all of these accomplishments with your other child, or children,
it does not make your current baby's accomplishments any less wonderful. Not only will your babies achievements be
exciting for you, but for the rest of the family as well. And do not worry if your baby is not developing as
quickly as your other children did. Again, each child is different in his or her development, but each child
deserves just as much attention as the others for the achievements that they make.
Most important in this, is that you do not let the remarks of others make you loose focus of your enjoyment from
your babies achievements. Almost every mother is of course going to be full of stories of all the things their
children are doing. And you should not be any different! Join in the conversations and share with these mothers,
your friends, and your family all of the accomplishments that your baby is making. This will bring your great joy
and truly help you to completely relish each and every achievement that your baby makes. Remember, your baby is
just as special as any other baby and deserves excitement and attention from you for every accomplishment they
make.
By relishing every achievement that your baby makes, you help to create a bond with your child that will last a
lifetime. Just as you enjoy everything that your baby does, your baby also enjoys the excitement and love that you
shower upon them whenever they accomplish something. Do not let anyone or anything stop you from completely
enjoying everything that your baby does. Relish each and every little achievement that is made, no matter how small
it is, and you will create a bond between you and your child that nothing can break.
