do with their children is a rock painting activity. For this activity, the materials needed will be a shoebox with
a lid, scissors, tempera paint, a rock, and paper (the paper can be either plain or construction paper.
Begin by placing the shoebox on the piece of paper and cutting around it so that the paper is the same size as the
bottom of the shoebox. Place the paper in the bottom of the shoebox. Place a small amount of paint into a dish, and
then dip the rock into it.
Then, place the rock into the shoebox, shut the lid, and shake the box up and down. This can be done over and over
again with various colors of paint, thus leaving unique designs on the paper.
